Mothercare School

These 3 year olds performed the Raas Leela, totally immersed in the Krishna spirit. Their involvement with Krishna stories, poems, songs from Jhanki July onwards, celebration of Janamashthmi made Krishna live entity for them. The dandiya, the makhan chori all speak of this in these pictures. Little ones brought smiles everywhere.

Our 3 to 4 year old Nursery children learnt the lesson of "People are people no matter how small" in no uncertain terms enacting the play HORTON HEARS A WHO by Dr Seuss.

The LKG and Mixed Age Group enacted The Goat and the Ram from The Beastly Tales by Vikram Seth and we were witness to see the magic of his words, rhyme and writing work upon these children aged 5 plus.

Dramatization can and should be introduced to children right from Toddler stage, provided it is done the right way. This gem of an art and activity provides ideal stimulus for each and every Intelligence Centre of the brain and each and every Developmental Area.  However, it can play havoc if done in the usual mundane way. Learning the script by heart and then having to reproduce in front of strangers, without any interest or involvement with the whole, can be traumatic and very stressful for the pre-school and primary school child.

We, at Mothercare School, have been using this tool extensively for the last 37 years. This year too, on 6^th December, we celebrated Mothercarefest ’15. It was the culmination of a month-long workshop on dramatization in which all our school children from Toddlers to class IV participated and put up a stunning, unbelievable performance for the parents. This dramatization workshop is a major contributor to their natural, happy, playful state. At the same time, it helps them to be at par and ready for their entrance interviews and tests in an organic manner, confidently and without any stress. What is an interview or two when they have faced an audience of 400 people and enjoyed it like nothing before!

The reason this process takes us 2 months is that we take this opportunity to ensure optimal growth for the child in every possible area… and you can gauge our success in this endeavour from the photographs and clippings below

Theme based invitations made for Mothercarefest , the culmination of our two month long Dramatization Workshop on 6th December 2015.We worked hard and had lots of fun while learning many new things. Do come to watch our talents as we perform confidently on stage.

This takes us back to the days of Doordarshan Monopoly " Ek Chidiya Anek Chidiya". How the children enjoyed it and also understood the importance of being united.

A play with lots of animal songs and dances put up by our little toddlers and Play Group A children aged 18 months to 3 years. Besides rhyme, rhythm, music and movement they learnt about the value of friendship and belonging.

Vikram Seth’s inimitable style and brilliance with words provided the appropriate stimulus for our children to ignite in them a love for the English language.

Hare and the Tortoise from Beastly Tales by Vikram Seth was enacted by the LKG and Mixed Age Group Children.

Alice says," Healthy body in a healthy Mind" inspired by The story, movie Alice in Wonderland, the children of Nursery A, B and C understood what can happen if you live on junk food and how and what healthy food can lead to good health and behaviour in no uncertain terms.

Ek  Chidiya Anek Chidiya from the good old Doordarshan monopoly days was interpreted and enacted by the Toddlers and Play Group A children of Mothercare School in their own inimitable way, learning their first lesson about the advantage of Unity.
